Dissolved Oxygen

The X2change™ Dissolved Oxygen Sensor measures the amount of oxygen available in water to support aquatic life. Powered by JFE Advantech, the sensor is available with depth ratings of 2,000 or 6,000 metres, making it suitable for a wide range of oceanographic and environmental monitoring applications.

Technical specifications

  • Measurement range: 0–425 µmol/L
  • Accuracy: ±2.0 µmol/L
  • Resolution: 0.01 µmol/L
  • Response time: less than 1 second
  • Depth ratings: 2,000 or 6,000 metres

X2change™ field-swappable sensor technology

X2change™ is AML’s range of field-swappable sensor heads. Each sensor head stores its own calibration data and can be transferred between compatible instruments without affecting measurement accuracy. Changing a sensor is straightforward: unscrew the installed sensor head and replace it with another.

Key benefits

Minimal downtime
Recalibrated sensor heads can be sent directly to the instrument, removing the need to return the complete instrument to a calibration centre.

Lower logistical costs
Only the compact sensor head needs to be shipped for recalibration, rather than the entire instrument.

Greater flexibility
Organisations can keep calibrated spare sensor heads in stock and quickly exchange them in the field whenever required.

One instrument for multiple applications
Sensor types can be changed to suit different project requirements, reducing the need for separate instruments dedicated to parameters such as dissolved oxygen, turbidity, pH or chlorophyll.

Optimised pressure accuracy
Select the full-scale pressure range that best matches the intended deployment depth.

X2change™ sensor heads are designed exclusively for use with AML X2•Series and Orange Line instruments. The choice of instrument model, sensor type and measurement range allows each system to be configured for its intended application.
