The FROG Align is a NovAtel’s firmware based heading solution.
The FROG Align provides distance and bearing information between a “Master” and “Rover” receiver. This system offers benefits to clients wanting relative directional heading of one object, separation heading between multiple objects of reference heading for pointing applications.

Motion/heading sensors

For applications that require pitch-, roll-, heave- and heading data, Seabed offers different options. The sensors in Seabed’s assortment are mainly used in the offshore-, marine-, aviation- and automotive industry. Seabed mainly mobilizes these units on cranes, survey vessels and jack-ups.

Seabed is an official dealer of SMC motion- and heading sensors. Besides SMC equipment, Seabed also offers XSENS and IXSEA motion and heading sensors.

Underwater positioning

To complete the range of positioning solutions, Seabed offers various underwater positioning options based on USBL (Ultra Short Base Line). One fixed transceiver tracks one or more roving beacons, which are placed on submerged objects. The beacon uses an acoustic source to send out a signal which is received by the transceiver on the vessel. The entry angle and travel time to the transceiver are then calculated. These calculations are converted into a relative position. This position becomes absolute by interfacing GPS and heading solutions.
